Yee Haw

Lisa and I went with another couple to Platte, SD this past weekend for a wedding party. The couple got married in Jamaica and had a reception/party in Platte. It was an experience. We stayed at the only hotel in town. The dance was at a place called the Yellow Rose. It was a bar/restaurant/sales barn. They had both kinds of music there. Country and Western. It smelled like horse crap. The bar actually had sawdust down on the floor to keep you from tracking horse/cow crap through the whole place. I don't think I have ever felt so out of place in my life. The bar was full of cowboys (real ones) who were spitting chew on the ground and slamming beers. I think if any of those guys found out I was a vegetarian they would have lynched me. It was an interesting night. Lucky Lisa has been really sensitive to smells lately so it was great for her too. ha ha

I wish I had brought our camera so I could post pics.

Anyhoo. Not as fun or excited as our last few updates but at least it's something.

The family is expanding...

What an exciting year so far in our household. Lisa got a promotion, we bought a house, and we are pregnant! (we actually found out all 3 things in the same week)

We have known for a while now but wanted to wait until our first doctors appointment to tell everyone. Lisa is about 10 weeks pregnant. Our due date is September 20th.

Today at our first doctors appointment we were able to listen to our baby's heartbeat! Our doctor said most of the time they are not able to hear the heartbeat so early but since Lisa is so skinny she was able to find the baby. Lisa is doing well. She has not had to deal with too much morning sickness. She's just a little sore, sleepy and has "baby brain".

Surprise!

Lisa put together a nice surprise 30th birthday party for me this past weekend. A bunch of Sioux Falls and Aberdeen friends were waiting for us when we got home from the hockey game Saturday night.

Moving Day

I hate winter...

Well we are all packed and ready to start taking Jeep loads of boxes over to the new house Tuesday. So of course we had to have a blizzard today. Not as bad as the picture above but we are supposed to get 5" and the winds are blowing. :(

Packing is soooo exciting!!!!

We're back....we really will try to keep this updated....really...maybe...

Just taking a break from packing. In case you have not heard Lisa and I found a house and will be closing 2/12. We will be moving in over the next week or so. I will post pics here as soon as I take some. It's a nice 3 bedroom split level with 2 baths. It has a nice family room in the lower level with a guest room and an office. It has a nice backyard and it's kinda in the same part of town we live in now which is nice.
