Black Hills

View from the top of Harney peak

Lisa and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary with a trip to the Black Hills. Aubrey got to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa Gallipo in Watertown. We spend 3 nights camping in Custer State park and had a lot of fun. We celebrated our actual wedding anniversary by climbing Harney Peak.

Here are some pictures:

Our campsite. Really nice site with a stream running by. Very peaceful.

We had Mexican food in town for lunch on Sat and Sun but all the rest of our meals we cooked on the fire. I'm cooking breakfast here with our new cast iron skillet.
Hiking Harney Peak

This is about an hour into the hike. You can see the lookout tower on the top of Harney Peak if you look closely.

We made it!

We're so happy that you had such a good time. And we're even happier that Aubrey got to stay here!

I love the Black Hills--my grandma used to live down in the canyons in Hot Springs, SD, but now lives in Rapid City. We visit every year and it's just gorgeous to look at!
